Activating POP3 Free Yahoo! Mail

If we have a free email account at Yahoo! Mail with the U.S. servers, by default Yahoo! will not provide POP3 and SMTP features such as Google Mail. If we need this feature to download our mailbox from Yahoo!, Then we would be offered to upgrade our account to Yahoo! Mail Plus paid version. Here are a trick that we can use the POP3 feature Yahoo! Mail account even though our account is a free version.

Once we log into Yahoo! Mail, which first we do is to change our account settings.

1. In the browser would appear to verify the login page again, enter the password to login.

2. After that we will go to the page that contains the info of our account, click on the menu Preferred Content (yellow color in the picture below) to make changes.

3.  On the next page, select the option Yahoo! Asia in New Settings menu. Click the “Finished”. Click the “I Accept” to accept the Yahoo! Terms of Service to the changes that we do.

4. Back to Yahoo! Mail. To enable the POP3 feature, go to the Mail Options menu.

5. Then select the POP & Forwarding menu, click Set or edit POP & Forwarding.

6. Active feature by selecting the option POP3 Web & POP Access, click the “Save” (top left in red) to save the changes.

7. Yahoo! will provide notification that the activation of POP3 has succeeded. And our free Yahoo email account! are ready to be accessed with an email client application that we use. Have a nice day!
